Summer is here and it’s time for holidays. For many in the university community this means taking the opportunity for some rest and relaxation after another exciting year. It also means building up new reserves of energy and inspiration for the year to come.
I will be leaving next week to spend a few days in the southern Swedish city of Lund. Sweden, which currently holds the presidency of the European Union, is organizing a conference focusing on setting priorities for new activities in the area of research and knowledge development and transfer: New Worlds-New Solutions - Research and Innovation as a Basis for Developing Europe in a Global Context. The Swedish Minister of Education is hosting the conference.
My holidays start on 13 July and last until 5 August.
I wish the readers of my blog a pleasant and inspiring summer. We will no doubt meet again after the summer holidays, hopefully at the opening of the academic year on 3 September.
